Wrapped up a residency at Stay Home Gallery & Residency in Paris, TN last month (how has it already been that long?) I was lucky enough to be a guest of the wonderful artist Kaylan Buteyn at her gorgeous, welcoming and restful space in rural Tennessee to dive into my latest body of work, “This Land Is Y(our) Land”. (I also got to sneak in some battlefield visits when not in the studio to flesh out my ongoing “Reenactment/Quiltscapes” series!) I spent countless hours sitting on the screened-in porch listening to the wind and the birds, drawing til my fingers cramped, and watching the storms roll in and out across the beautiful landscape.

I came away from my time here reinvested in rest, and with a renewed sense of direction in my practice. It was such a gift.
